KITCHEN POSITIONS :

LEAD Sushi CHEF  ( kitchen experience required )​

Izakaya Cabin is looking for an Executive Level Chef to lead our kitchen at 8,900 feet. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership role in a ski-town sushi bar (izakaya) where expectations are high, days are long, and the payoff is real.

Let’s be clear upfront: this is not a cushy 40-hour job. Service days can be long, the pace can be relentless, and winter seasons don’t care about your phone or your watch. But when the mountain is empty, and the town thins out, you get something rare in this industry: time off that actually feels like time off. After your first year, this position includes 8 weeks of PAID vacation, designed for people who understand the tradeoff between grinding hard and disappearing completely. ( First year = same 2 months time off, but unpaid )

Crested Butte is a real ski town. Clean air. No traffic lights. Locals ride the free bus. High altitude living that rewards people who love mountains more than malls. We’re looking for a chef who can thrive in that environment, someone who skis or rides, or wants to, and who understands that the lifestyle is part of the job. This is a place for someone who can lead with calm confidence, maintain high standards, and still show up hungry for service night after night.

The food matters. Deep respect for Japanese cuisine is non-negotiable. We value technique, restraint, consistency, and flavor over ego. You’ll be trusted to lead the kitchen, shape menus, mentor rookies, and maintain a standard that matches the room. In return, you’ll be part of a tight crew, a loyal local community, and a restaurant that takes both food and life seriously.

We do NOT have employee housing, you're on your own to find a place to live, but we will help out with a fist month rent paid as a signing bonus. & no strings attached... if you're not into CB.

Physical Requirements: This role is physically demanding and requires extended periods of standing, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, repetitive hand and knife work, and the stamina to perform consistently in a fast-paced, high-altitude kitchen environment.

Sushi INTERN ( positional filled for winter )

work 3-5 nights/ week 2pm-10pm. learn the trade from the sushi masters. intern position will LEARN the menu sushi from rice to rolls, assist the sushi leads in preparing menu items for the entire restaurant.

FOH POSITIONS:

FULL TIME SERVER ( start asap )

We are currently seeking a full-time server to join the team.

Experience serving required. 5 days/ week.

sushi / wine / sake knowledge preferred
